About Catherine Rudolph

Catherine was born in New York. She moved with her family to Chile when she was young and attended college graduating to become an engineer. After some time she turned to teaching because that was her true passion. Catherine has been teaching Spanish formally for 15 years—in private schools and currently her own business on Bainbridge Island in Washington State. She is married and has three children.

Every year Catherine visits Chile to keep-up the cultural connection with her parents, siblings, cousins and friends—a community she values and remains deeply connected to. She enjoys church, barrecor, wine, and laughter!

How do you teach Spanish?

It must be fun, first and foremost. When you call for me to teach, we will begin with an introduction lesson so I may determine if my service is best-fit for your needs. I use what I learn about you to build a curriculum personal to you—that you will have the most fun and best chance of succeeding with. What is most exciting is seeing the improvement!

What do you enjoy most about teaching?

What is most exciting is seeing the improvement! People come to me with broken spirit sometimes, and using my method, they have a break-through! It is magic and also a proven method. I love it!

Why aren’t other methods of teaching Spanish as effective as yours?

Other methods are too limited often due to logistical constraints, and so too then are the results. I have no such constraints. Specifically, I work with each person individually in 4 areas at the same time—reading, writing, listening, and speaking—along with the workbooks I make personal to each student to support the curriculum I design that is unique also. This way provides the best opportunity to learn because simply I leverage more tools to bring-out the communication in the individual and have it stick. The classes I lead are very dynamic and intense! My clients love and recommend me because of this.
